On Friday morning, 13 June, in the Consistory Hall of the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace, Pope Leo XIV presided at the celebration of the Hour of Terce and the Ordinary Public Consistory for the Canonization of Blesseds Ignatius Shoukrallah Maloyan, Armenian Catholic Archbishop of Mardin, martyr; Peter To Rot, layperson and catechist, martyr; Vincenza Maria Poloni, founder of the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of Verona; María del Monte Carmelo Rendiles Martínez, founder of the Congregation of the Servants of Jesus; Maria Troncatti, professed religious sister of the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians; José Gregorio Hernández Cisneros, lay faithful; Pier Giorgio Frassati, lay faithful of the Third Order of Saint Dominic; and Bartolo Longo, lay faithful.
During the Consistory, the Pope authorized a decree that Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati and Blessed Carlo Acutis be inscribed in the Book of Saints on Sunday, 7 September 2025, and the others on Sunday, 19 October 2025.
