In the midst of the challenges posed by the modern world, mental health has risen as a critical concern for India’s population. The recent National Mental Health Survey indicates that approximately 14% of the Indian population experiences mental health challenges, translating to an estimated 150 million individuals.
Among our youth, the statistics are particularly alarming, with studies suggesting that 1 in 7 adolescents aged 15 to 24 in India suffers from a mental health disorder. Regrettably, the repercussions of this silent epidemic manifest in the alarming suicide rates; in 2021 alone, India documented 164,000 suicides, with a notable portion involving young adults and children.
