“I will bring Joan of Arc to the stage. Soon I will direct a show inspired by the book The Trial of Joan of Arc edited by Teresa Cremisi (Marsilio)- The text contains the trial records from which emerges a different image from the one conveyed by the many films in which the Maid of Orléans has always been depicted as possessed from male perspectives. The Joan that emerges from the trial records is instead an extremely modern woman who does not ask anyone for permission to fight her battle for freedom or to limit her choices. She is an excellent example for today’s young women and an invitation to us women in the arts to have the courage more often to assert our viewpoint”.
