The Annual Convocation Day at St Peter’s Pontifical Institute was held on 19 June, a significant event marking the culmination of years of rigorous philosophical and theological study and training. This event celebrated the achievements of graduating students, highlighting their academic accomplishments and readiness to embark on their respective ministries.

The ceremony commenced with an opening prayer song led by Geetha Rollers. This was followed by a welcome address from Rev Dr Antony Lawrence, the President of St Peter’s Pontifical Institute. He emphasized the importance of the day and the achievements of the graduating class. Rev Dr Stany C. Fernandes then called each graduate to the stage, where they were presented with the degrees of certificates by Most Rev Dr Peter Machado, the Chancellor, and Most Rev Dr Jeevanandam, Chief Guest of the day. Along with them Very Rev Dr Richard Britto, the Rector of St Peter’s Pontifical Seminary, was present for the event. Graduates received degrees and diplomas in various disciplines.

Several graduates received special awards for their exceptional academic performance. After the conferral of diplomas, the Most Rev Dr Jeevanandam, Bishop of Kumbakonam and a renowned theologian, delivered a convocation address. He spoke on contextual theology, connecting it to contemporary issues.

The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from the Chancellor and words of congratulations from Very Rev Sr Celine D’cunha.
