With the President of Malta

On Thursday, 21 March, the Holy Father received in audience H.E. Mr George Vella, President of the Republic of Malta, who subsequently met with Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, accompanied by the Rev. Msgr. Wachowski Mirosław Stanisław, Under-Secretary for Relations with States.

During the cordial discussions, which took place at the Secretariat of State, appreciation was expressed for the good existing bilateral relations.

Attention then turned to various issues of an international nature, with particular attention to the Mediterranean region, the conflicts in Israel and Palestine and in Ukraine, and migration.
