Local but global, with ancient roots and yet too often explained away only through a contemporary lens, photographed by the most up-to-date media, but still being fought in bunkers and trenches: the war in the second-largest and most tormented state in Europe began two years ago, on 24 February 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine. “See everything, endure much, correct only one thing at a time”: faced with a war without truce, nor the possibility of concrete negotiations, the Christian approach offered by Saint Bernard of Clairvaux reminds us that the most important thing to do is to equip oneself with a method with which to interpret reality, in particular in times of crisis. To see everything means to make an effort to understand who the players on the field are and what they want, what the stakes are and what the balance of power is. ...
