Pope calls U.S. President Joe Biden to discuss ongoing global conflicts

On Sunday afternoon, 22 October, Pope Francis spoke on the phone with the President of the United States, Mr Joe Biden, according to the Director of the Holy See Press Office, Mr Matteo Bruni.

The conversation lasted around 20 minutes. The Pope and the President spoke about “situations of conflict in the world and the need to identify paths to peace”, said Mr Bruni. He also clarified that it was Pope Francis who called President Biden.
