Meeting with French President Macron

At 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, 23 September, Pope Francis met with French President Mr Emmanuel Macron, in the Salon d’honneur du Maire of the Palais du Pharo. After taking the official picture together, the two leaders met privately. Their conversation was followed by an exchange of gifts. Meanwhile, in the adjacent room, Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin met with French Prime Minister Ms Élisabeth Borne. They were accompanied by the Substitute of the Secretary of State, Archbishop Edgar Peña Parra; Apostolic Nuncio to France, Archbishop Celestino Migliore; and a Nunciature Councillor.
