The embrace of mercy

Francisco, a 21-year-old from Spain, Yespi, a 33-year-old Guatemalan, and Samuel, a 19-year-old Italian. They are the three young people who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation from Pope Francis on Friday morning, 4 August, in the “Vasco da Gama” public garden in Lisbon. One hundred fifty wooden confessionals built by inmates from three Portuguese prisons were set up there for the occasion.
