On Monday morning, 7 August, as is customary after an Apostolic Journey, Pope Francis visited the Basilica of Saint Mary Major in Rome to offer a prayer of thanksgiving before the image of Salus Populi Romani for the successful conclusion of his visit to Lisbon for World Youth Day.
