The spirituality of cycling

I have always made life’s important decisions while cycling for many kilometres on my bike: while training on the streets of Tuscany or when I won the Olympics, two World championships, the Milan-Sanremo race, the Giro di Lombardia or the Liège-Bastogne-Liège race, or when I cycled at the Giro d’Italia or the Tour de France. Allow me to say that based on my experience, the opportunity that an official Vatican cycling team can offer to relaunching a healthy practice of sport, inclusive of spirituality and solidarity, is a source of inspiration and meditation for everyone. This is my personal story: I learned that doing sports is also useful to getting to know oneself better, and more deeply.
