
Pope Francis will travel to Lisbon on Wednesday morning, 2 August, to participate in World Youth Day. He is scheduled to depart from Rome’s Fiumicino Airport at 7:50 am, arriving at Figo Maduro Air Base in Lisbon at 10 am. Among the many activities scheduled with young people are a meeting with university students at “Universidade Católica Portugesa”; one with young people of Scholas Occurrentes; a celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation in which the Pope will hear confessions; the Stations of the Cross; a vigil with young people and Holy Mass for World Youth Day on his final day in Lisbon. On Saturday, 5 August, Pope Francis will travel to Fatima where he will recite the Rosary with a group of sick young people at the Chapel of the Apparitions of the Shrine of Our Lady. During the five-day Journey, the Pope will also meet with the Portuguese Authorities, with bishops, priests, deacons consecrated persons, seminarians and pastoral workers and with members of the Society of Jesus.
