Close to the people

For the sixth time since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Pope Francis has sent his Almoner, Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, on mission to Ukraine, to be close to the people, to pray with them and to bring the practical embrace and support of the Pontiff.

Cardinal Krajewski will travel to Ukraine by car, bringing urgently needed medical supplies to the Kherson area, where the destruction of a dam has caused death and untold suffering to innocent people. A second lorry packed with food (mostly from Korea), medicine and medical devices, will follow the departure of the Papal Almoner.
