The Archdiocese of Bangalore has offered refuge and support to a group of displaced students and working youth from the Manipur Valley who travelled all the way to Bangalore. Led by Fr James Beipei sj, a Manipuri Priest in Bangalore, these children and youth sought safety and found solace in the Archdiocese, as cited by the media director of the Archdiocese of Bangalore, Fr Cyril Victor Joseph.

Upon hearing their plea for assistance, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Bangalore, Monsignor Peter Machado, extended all-round help to these displaced students. Emphasizing that Bangalore is an excellent place for education, he assured them that they would be able to continue their studies in the diocesan and religious academic institutions in the Archdiocese of Bangalore free of cost, and that they would also have access to hostel facilities. Archbishop Machado expressed solidarity with the affected and displaced people of Manipur and conveyed the readiness of the entire Archdiocese to care for these individuals.
