Twenty-one Libyan martyrs to be included in the Roman Martyrology

At the beginning of the General Audience on Wednesday, 10 May, Pope Francis welcomed Coptic Orthodox Pope Tawadros ii , Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Saint Mark, with an embrace on the parvis of Saint Peter’s Basilica, to mark the “Day of friendship between Copts and Catholics”. The two spiritual leaders each delivered a discourse, and then prayed the Our Father together and offered their blessing to the faithful gathered in the Square.

In his final greetings, Pope Francis invited young people, the sick, the elderly and newlyweds, to put their hope in Christ and to pray to Our Lady during this Marian month.
