A good confessor is also a good penitent

The following are excerpts of an interview with Msgr Krzysztof Jozef Nykiel, Regent of the Apostolic Penitentiary, granted to L’Osservatore Romano on the occasion of the 33rd Course on the Internal Forum which took place in Rome from 20 to 24 March. What are the objectives of the Course and for whom is it intended? For 33 years the Apostolic Penitentiary has been promoting the formation course, aimed chiefly at seminarians who are approaching the time of their ordination, and young priests. However, it also welcomes those who have been exercising their priestly ministry for a longer time and commendably desire to update or deepen their knowledge of such a central and delicate sphere as the service of confessor.
