“Thank you for having accompanied me with your prayers. Please continue to do so”, Pope Francis said in a tweet on Monday, 13 March, the tenth anniversary of his Pontificate, as well wishes continued to arrive. To mark the important milestone, the Holy Father celebrated Holy Mass in Santa Marta with the Cardinals who were present in Rome.
Later in the day, as he shared his thoughts and stories in a Vatican Media podcast, he spoke about the profound need for peace.
Greetings and congratulations poured in from throughout the world, including from Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew; Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby; Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayyeb; and Chief Rabbi of Rome Riccardo Di Segni. In preparation for this anniversary, the Holy Father had also granted several interviews. It would be impossible here to reproduce them all or to mention all the well-wishers. However, for a summary of the coverage of Pope Francis’ 10th anniversary, please see pages 5-12.
