Representatives of Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Shintoism, African traditional religion and Zoroastrianism: 30 women from 23 different countries, representing 12 religious traditions, met in Rome. The event Women Building a Culture of Interreligious Encounter, organised by the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue and the World Union of Catholic Women's Organisations took place at the Pontifical Urbaniana University. The objective: to get to know each other, to confront each other, and then to give life to a global network of women that favours “a re-humanisation of society”.
