More than 700 women religious at the helm of international congregations met from 2-6 May in Rome. The theme guiding the International Union of Superiors General (uisg) Plenary Assembly was Embracing Vulnerability on the Synodal Journey. For the first time, a portion of the sisters met together in Rome (over 500) and another portion (over 200) participated from afar, online. Prayer reflections opened and closed each day. Ruth, Mary and Elizabeth, biblical icons of vulnerability and synodality, not only accompanied the sisters each day, but also reminded them that “with our vulnerability and poverty, God can do wonders”.
