“The international community should work toward reconciliation between the interested parties”. We “cannot look away in the face of the sufferings of so many brothers and sisters” in Myanmar: this is how Pope Francis relaunched the appeal made by the country’s local Bishops. It has been one year now, that the world has been painfully witnessing “the violence that is bloodying Myanmar”. At the end of the Wednesday General Audience, in the Paul vi Hall, the Pontiff asked that God might “console that tormented population; to Him — he said — we entrust all the efforts for peace”.

Earlier, the Pope had continued his series of catechesis on the figure of Saint Joseph.
