After more than 20 years, Korçë, in southern Albania has its own parish priest thanks to the missionary collaboration of the Archdiocese of Agrigento, Italy, with the Balkan nation. In the presence of the Apostolic Administrator of Southern Albania, Bishop Giovanni Peragine, in September Archbishop Alessandro Damiano of Agrigento, conferred the missionary mandate to Fr Riccardo Scorsone, to consecrated laywoman Maria Vega, to lawyer Vincenza Lipari and to teacher Giovanni Russo. In this way, the missionary collaboration prepared in recent years was formally launched with the signature of the special agreement.
