Pope’s appeal

Safety for Nigerians The Holy Father made this appeal at the conclusion of the General Audience on Wednesday, 29 September, while expressing his closeness to the victims of the recent attack in northern Nigeria. I learned with sorrow of the news of the armed attacks last Sunday against the villages of Madamai and Abun, in northern Nigeria. I pray for those who have died, for those who were wounded, and for the entire Nigerian population. I hope that the safety of every citizen may be guaranteed in the country.
