“Un monastero di famiglia. Il diario delle barberine della SS. Incarnazione (secc. XVII-XVIII)”,[A Family Monastery. Diary of the Barberine della Santissima Incarnazione, XVII -XVIII Centuries] is edited by Valentina Abbatelli, Alessia Lirosi and Irene Palombo, with a beautiful introductory essay by Gabriella Zarri; published by Viella, it is an interesting example of monastic chronicle. The Carmelite monastery was founded in Rome in 1639 by Pope Urban VIII, a Barberini, and was one of the richest and most sought after communities by the city’s nobility.
