The nursery inside the walls

The combined effort of Pope Francis and Governor Raffaella Petrini has led to the opening of a nursery inside the Vatican walls. This project was strongly supported by the Pope and is managed by the Vatican Governorate, a positon held by a woman for the first time.

The nursery offers a bilingual environment, with activities taking place in both Italian and English, which allows children to grow up in a multicultural context from an early age. This is a sign of renewal and modernization. The facility is open Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM, so providing full coverage of the working day. Although the number of available spots is currently limited, this initiative is part of a broader policy to support families, and facilitate the balance between work and family life.
