A world without hunger is possible

The impact of climate change, the economic consequences of the Covid -19 pandemic and the current Ukrainian war have brought the world to the brink of a very serious food crisis. The warning signs are worrying. According to the World Food Programme, more than 276 million people in the world are at risk of hunger. Before the Covid -19 pandemic there were 130 million. In just over two years, the pandemic, climate change and ongoing conflicts in many nations have had devastating consequences on food security. As a result of violence, millions of people are migrating away from arable land. For example, in the Sahel region all the progress made to turn infertile land into productive farmland has been lost due to population migration.
