01 April 2022
The Holy Father met with representatives of three major groups of Canada’s indigenous delegations — The First Nations, Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami and Métis Nation. On Monday morning, 28 March, Pope Francis welcomed the delegations of Métis and Inuit in successive audiences, each meeting lasting about one hour; and met with The First Nations delegates on Thursday, 31 March. The delegations were accompanied by several Bishops from the Canadian Catholic Bishops’ Conference. The Holy Father had the opportunity to listen to their personal testimonies.
