On Friday morning, 3 December, the second day of his Apostolic Journey to Cyprus, the Pope paid a courtesy visit to His Beatitude Chrysostomos II at the Orthodox Archbishopric of Cyprus in Nicosia, after which he proceeded to Saint John’s Cathedral for an encounter with the Holy Synod. The following is the English text of the Holy Father’s discourse in the Cathedral after hearing words of greeting from the Orthodox Archbishop.
