Bioethics, Multiculturalism and Religion

The eighth edition of the UNESCO workshop on “Bioethics, Multiculturalism and Religion” will take place this year at Chulalongkorn University, in Bangkok, Thailand from January 31 to February 2.

During the three days the workshop will discuss how bioethics can provide answers to environmental and nature protection with experts from religious -Buddhist, Christian, Confucian, Hindu, Islamic, Jewish-, and secular traditions.

Diocesan Days of Spirituality

The 40th edition of the Giornate di Spiritualità della Famiglia Salesiana [Days of Spirituality of the Salesian Family] will be held from January 13 to 16 in Turin-Valdocco.

Benedict XV, a pope linked to the worship of Joan of Arc

January 22 marks the centenary of the death of Pope Benedict XV. In 1920, he proclaimed Saint Joan of Arc, whose six hundred and tenth anniversary of her birth falls on January 6.

Women and Visitations

On January 21, on the Zoom platform, Elena Lobina Cocco of the “Gruppi donne delle Comunità di base e le molte altre” [Women’s Groups of the Base Communities and the Many Others] will present Visitations with Paola Cavallari of the Interreligious Observatory on Violence against Women, the theologian Antonietta Potente, a Benedictine nun, together with the Waldensian pastor Elizabeth Green.
