At the end of his discourse to representatives of various religions on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, instituted by unesco , Pope Francis wished to state that “our religious traditions, which have always played a leading role in schooling, from teaching literacy to higher education, reaffirm their mission of integrally educating each individual: head, hands, heart and soul, in a word, in all his or her beauty”.
