Together with the victims

Pope Francis met two Italian women who were victims of clerical abuse, as Fr Hans Zollner, of the Pontifical omission for the Protection of Minors, reported. The victims gave the pope two books published this year: Giulia e il lupo and Vorrei risorgere dalle mie ferite. The first is about the experience of a young woman abused by a priest in Italy. The other is about consecrated women who are abused by priests.Zollner said “The Pope was very impressed by what these women said and asked to be able to follow this affair”. Fr Zollner also said that the institution of a day of prayer for the victims is being planned, as well as a penitential vigil and the publication of a booklet of guidelines for the Bishops’ Conferences.
