Time to say ‘no’

· ​During his homily on Ash Wednesday the Pontiff speaks of God's breath of life which saves man from the asphyxia of selfishness ·

’“Lent is the time for saying no. No to the spiritual asphyxia born of the pollution caused by indifference ... and by every attempt to trivialize life”. Pope Francis emphasized this in his homily on Ash Wednesday, 1 March, which he celebrated in the Cathedral of Saint Sabina of Aventino in Rome. Bowing his head before Cardinal Jozef Tomko,Cardinal-Priest of Santa Sabina, the Pontiff was the first to receive the imposition of ashes.
