An invitation to keep in our hearts the “restlessness” that prompts us to seek God, to proclaim him courageously, and to give witness to him with love. This was addressed by the Pope to the participants in the General Chapter of the Augustinians during the Mass celebrated on Wednesday afternoon, 28 August, in the Basilica of Sts Tryphon and Augustine in Campo Marzio in Rome.
The Pope suggested: let us not “remain closed in on ourselves, in our communities which are frequently 'communities-commodities'”. We should “go towards the other, without waiting for the other to manifest his need”.
A short while before, the Holy Father met 700 young people from the Diocese of Piacenza-Bobbio in the Vatican Basilica and he recalled that only by hoping and desiring for great things and higher ideals is it possible to go against the current and be “artisans of the future” for the world.
