The little evangelisers of Pakistan

In the Year of Faith, the Church's work of evangelization in Pakistan also involves the girls and boys who, going along their Christian journey and rediscovering the faith,  become "authentic evangelizers." This was affirmed by the local Church, while celebrating on 17 February in Lahore  The Childhood Missionaries Day. As reported to Fides, in the Church of St. Joseph and led by the Franciscan, Father Francis Nadeem, the hundreds of children present renewed their commitment not only to live and deepen the faith (catechesis and study), but also to give Christian witness in the surroundings in which they live. "Children have a big role to play both within the Christian community and in helping other children in need", said Father Nadeem. The priest urged the children "to grow in missionary work, helping the poor, the disabled, orphans and street children, and in this way offering a contribution to Pakistani society. You - he said - are the light of the world. You are the light of the faith, of the love and the peace, which must be spread in society. " During the Eucharistic Celebration the children, as well as reciting the Prayer "God, make me an instrument of your peace" attributed to St. Francis, wished to pray intensely and especially for Benedict XVI in the last days of his pontificate.
