· A full schedule of ceremonies in Ulaanbaatar ·

A young Church entrusting her future to young people: this is how the apostolic prefect, Wenceslao Padilla, described the small Catholic community in Mongolia which recently celebrated 20 years in the Asian country. Bishop Wenceslao Padilla stressed that “celebrating the birth of the first mission in Mongolia reminds us that we are called to walk in this world with the light of Christ, to live our ethical and moral life to the full according to the Gospel, seeking to be the Light and the Good News for one another”. As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, Saturday 7 July, the “Mongolian National Youth Day” was held; Sunday 8, there was a liturgical celebration at the Cathedral of Ulaanbaatar. There for the celebration were Archbishop Hon Tai-Fai, Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and Bishop Lazzaro You Heung-sik of the diocese of Daejeon in Korea.
