Support for the evangelization and development of the poor

· Benedict XVI to members of the Papal Foundation ·

A support to the Church’s mission of evangelization and the integral development of those in poorer countries: this is how Benedict XVI stressed the value of the work carried out by the Papal Foundation, whose members he received in audience on Saturday morning, 21 April, in the Clementine Hall. In greeting them, the Pontiff recalled the importance of education and of the missionary endeavours of so many dioceses and religious congregations throughout the world. “In these days,” he asked especially, “I ask your continued prayers for the needs of the universal Church and in particular for the freedom of Christians to proclaim the Gospel and bring its light to the urgent moral issues of our time”.
