Sixth meeting
of the Council of Cardinals

The Council of Cardinals met with Pope Francis for the sixth time on Monday, 15 September. The Holy Father established the Council in order aid him in governing the universal Church and to explore revising the Apostolic Constitution Pastor bonus on the Roman Curia. The meetings of the “Council of Nine” — which includes now includes Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin at the wish of the Bishop of Rome — will continue until Wednesday, 17 September. The Cardinals previously met 1-3 October and 3-5 December 2013, 17-19 February, 28-30 April and 1-4 July 2014.
