Serving the Holy Land
· An international website for the Order of the Holy Sepulchre ·
Cardinal Frederick O’Brien, Grand Master of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, inaugurated the Grand Magisterium website (www.oessh.va) early this summer. The new website, available in five languages – Italian, English, French, Spanish and German – was launched by the Order’s Communications service in cooperation with the Secretariat for Communications of the Holy See.
The website is a new instrument intended to reach the Order’s 30,000 members, Knights and Dames, throughout the world as well as their friends and all those who love the Holy Land.
The previous web page, can still be found in two languages on the Holy See website, where historical information remains available. The new website instead – according to a statement – provides more space to information concerning the activities of the Order and to current projects in the Holy Land to promote the “culture of encounter”. In every linguistic version, videos will show the life of the Lieutenancies, which represent the peripheral structures of the Order in the local Churches, from Australia to Argentina, and from Norway to South Africa, passing clearly from the European countries where the Order has been rooted for many centuries.
