Religion cannot divide

· Violence in the Near East and ecumenical dialogue in an address given by Bartolomaios ·

“A crime committed in the name of religion is a crime against religion itself, because hate disguised as religion in order to introduce enmity to a history where there is nothing holy or sacred left”. On receiving to the Phanar a group of pilgrims from the Archdiocese of Milan and a group of journalists from the French daily la Croix, the Ecumenical Patriarch and Archbishop of Constantinople, Bartolomaios returned to address the “intolerable” violence in the Near East and in Ukraine. Tragedies and “barbarities of another time”, which are unjustifiable by nothing and no one.
