Certainly a strategic move, but also interesting that the American first lady decided to enter into the iconography of recent history with an outfit that’s already been worn. At the party for the re-election in November, Michelle Obama wore a dress which she had already worn in 2009 and in 2010. This is certainly a strong statement that the White House wanted to make to the American people crushed by the economic crisis.
