· Benedict XVI recalls primacy of conscience to representatives of British society in Westminster Hall ·

On Friday afternoon, 17 September, the Holy Father went to Westminster Hall, the oldest room in Westminster Palace, today the Houses of Parliament. Here he spoke to representatives of British Society, including diplomats, politicians, academics and business leaders. The Meeting commenced with a greeting to the Pope by Mr John Bercow, Speaker of the House of Commons. After addressing those present, the Holy Father was also greeted by Baroness Hayman, Speaker of the House of Lords.
