In an atmosphere of great cordiality, Pope Francis received the President of the Italy, Giorgio Napolitano, on Friday afternoon, 21 November. Their meeting lasted more than one hour in the Santa Marta Residence. This was announced by the Director of the Holy See Press Office, Fr Federico Lombardi. A statement was also released by the Quirinale underlining that the strictly private meeting confirmed the earnest and amicable rapport between the Pope and the Head of State.
