Pope Francis in Molise

· Pastoral visit on Saturday ·

In Molise, final preparations are being made for the arrival of Pope Francis, who will be visiting Campobasso, Castelpetroso e Isernia on Saturday, 5 July. The motto chosen for the visit derives from the Holy Father's often repeated phrase: “God never tires of forgiving”. And according to Archbishop Giancarlo Maria Bregantini of Campobasso-Boiano, who stated in an interview on the eve of the Pontiff's arrival, “our community has something to be forgiven for. We have been chosen precisely because we are fragile, weak, limited and sinners”.

Pope Francis will arrive in Campobasso by helicopter shortly before 9:00 a.m.. After a meeting with the world of labour and industry in the great hall of the University of Molise, he will celebrate Holy Mass after which he will greet a group of sick people in the Cathedral. In the afternoon meetings are planned with the young people of Molise in Castelpetroso, and with detainees at the local prison of Isernia. Before his departure he will open the Celestinian Jubilee Year.
