Every 12 months the American paper Our Sunday Visitor compiles a list of Catholics who have distinguished themselves during the year just ended by their commitment to the Church and to society: for 2015, there were five women among the eight award winners. In alphabetical order they are Norma Pimental, a Missionary of Jesus who cares for refugees in Texas; Lila Rose, active in the Pro-Life Movement; Janet Smith, teacher of moral theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary, Detroit; Marlene Watkins, a housewife who founded a group of volunteers who take the charism of Lourdes to hospitals; and Carolyn Woo, President of Catholic Relief Services.
