The city of Paris is to open a refugee camp for men in mid-October in an area belonging to the railway company sncf near the Gare du Nord, no longer used today. The camp will be managed by the aid association Emmaus Solidarité, which for several years has been concerned with the question of housing for migrants. Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, has also announced the construction of a second camp only for women and unaccompanied minors. This centre will be built before the end of the year in the town of Ivry-sur-Seine in the south-eastern suburbs of Paris.
