A new and improved
“Women Church World”

· The monthly publication becomes a magazine ·

Beginning with its May issue, L’Osservatore Romano’s new and improved monthly instalment of “Women Church World” takes the form of a magazine. Forty pages, in colour, will continue to delve into the role of women in the Church, adding two new sections under the care of the Sisters of Bose: one focusing on art with women’s sensitivity and power of expression, and the other on the Bible. The renovation comes in response to many women’s need to share, reflect and make their voices heard.

At 11:30 am on 3 May, the new edition will be presented by Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, Lucetta Scaraffia, coordinator of the publication, and Elisa Zamboni of the Sisters of Bose. Also in attendance will be Msgr Dario Edoardo Viganò, Prefect of the Secretariat for Communications, and José Beltrán, director of “Vida Nueva”, the weekly publication which, since March 2015, publishes the Spanish edition of “Women Church World”. The meeting will be held in the Vatican screening room, located in the Palazzo San Carlo, and moderated by the director of L’Osservatore Romano.

The monthly periodical, which is issued on the second of each month in the daily and the Italian weekly editions of L’Osservatore Romano, has been in publication since May 2012 and is now at its 46th issue. It can be read online in seven languages on L’Osservatore Romano’s website, and is reprinted in English by “Catholic Women Speak” and in French by the weekly “la vie”.
