Morocco starts with schools

To stop violence against women we need to educate men. To fight against every form of violence it is necessary to start in the classroom. These are the cardinal points that inspired the reform of the Moroccan Ministry of Education to eliminate, from September, all forms of discrimination in school texts. It was King Mohammed VI himself who launched the initiative. On the occasion of a Council of Ministers in February he requested the revision of the religious education programmes that must “Attach great importance to education in the values of tolerant Islam… which advocates moderation, tolerance and coexistence with different cultures and civilizations”.
