· Meeting of representatives of communities affected by mining activities concludes in Rome ·
Man and nature together in a cry against oppression, violence and contamination. One voice seeking justice. This is how the three-day meeting organized by the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace can be summarized. From 17 to 19 July in Rome, participants gathered from various continents, representing communities which suffer due to the consequences of mining. Also taking part in the meeting were representatives of Episcopal Conferences, Caritas and the international alliance of Catholic development agencies.
