From Amman to Bethlehem. The Pope's visit in the Holy Land continues on Sunday in the city where Jesus was born. Following the welcome ceremony at the presidential palace at 11:00 am, the Pontiff will celebrate Mass and recite the Regina Caeli. Then at 1:30 pm he is scheduled to have lunch with several families from Palestine at the Franciscan convent Casa Nova in Bethlehem. After lunch, he will have a private tour of the Grotto of the Nativity and, at the Phoenix Center, he will meet with the children of the refugee camps of Dheisheh.
Just before 4:00 pm he will go by helicopter to the Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv. After the welcome ceremony in Israel, the Pope will go to Jerusalem. There, at 6:15 he will privately meet with the Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew to sign a joint statement. At 7:00 pm there will be an ecumenical celebration in the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre for the 50 th anniversary of Paul VI and Patriarch Athenagoras' meeting in Jerusalem.
