India does not sign against girls brides

India, which holds the world record of 24 million weddings with child brides (about forty percent of the world total), has refused to sign the first global resolution against forced marriage or child marriage between children, sponsored by the United Nations. The resolution was supported by 107 countries, including those in which marriage between minors is legal such as Ethiopia, Sudan, Sierra Leone, Chad, Guatemala, Honduras and Yemen.
