Here is what qualifies the Catholic identity   of charitable organizations

· Reflections on the Motu Proprio 'Intima Ecclesiae Natura' by Benedict XVI ·

Cardinal  Antonio María Rouco Varela, Archbishop of Madrid, and Archbishop Roland Minnerath of  Dijon propose various reflections on Benedict XVI's Motu Proprio "Intima Ecclesiae Natura", published on 1 December 2012. The notion of Catholic identity, writes Archbishop Minnerath, "appears in the first words of the Motu Proprio”. “The Church’s deepest nature” must be expressed in her institutions and works of charity that she promotes in the name of her apostolic mission. The Motu Proprio reminds that the “service of charity” is an integral of the mission of every Church and as such depends on the ministry of the bishop.
